British travel companies Thomson and First Choice have cancelled all flights to Mombasa until October after the UK Foreign Office warned against all but essential travel to Mombasa island, Kiwayu, coastal areas north of Pate Island and other areas of Kenya, citing a high threat from terrorism and kidnapping.
The Diani beach resort and Moi International Airport are not included in the problem areas.
There have today been reports of grenade attacks in Nairobi.
British tourists already in Kenya are being flown home and all should be back by Monday.
