Apex have issued a product safety recall Apeks XL4, XL4+ and OCEA second stages with serial numbers from 250402212 to 260402893, inclusive.
Affected products must NOT be sold or used until they have been inspected and, if necessary, repaired.

Why this product is dangerous: A manufacturing defect in the second-stage spindle assembly can restrict the flow of breathing gas at depths exceeding 45 metres. The regulator may not deliver sufficient breathing gas when required, posing a risk of inadequate air supply to the diver at depth.

The serial number is laser-marked directly onto the second stage regulator body. Use the table below to read your serial number:

What to Do
Stop using the regulator immediately if its serial number falls within the affected range (250402212 to 260402893).
Return the regulator to the authorised Apeks dealer from whom it was purchased, or to an authorised Apeks service centre. Find your nearest centre at uk.apeksdiving.com/pages/store-locator
