The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has launched its 2016 Oceans Photography contest. Photographers are invited to submit up to three photos in six categories, including marine life, destinations, human impact and marine conservation.

The photos should be submitted as JPEGS saved at the highest quality and at 1920 pixels on the longest dimensions.

Photos of marine organisms, the best diving and snorkelling spots, spectacular landscapes, marine plastics, pollution and overfishing are all welcome.

To enter send your photos to with IUCN Oceans Photographer of the Year in the subject. Make sure you submit your entries by the 25th of May.

IUCN is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental organisation. Compiler of the Red List of Threatened Species which is a comprehensive information source on the global conservation status of animal, fungi and plant species – the endangered species list.
