Rated one of the best diving areas in the world, Sipadan will be closed this year during November – a change from the previously flagged December closure.

In August 1919 the Sabah Parks authority announced that Sipadan would be closed to diving and snorkelling throughout the month of December starting in 2020. This was to allow the reef to recover and remain healthy.

Now though they have now announced that diving will cease during November and recommence on 1 December.

It is not clear why the date has changed, although it will come as a blow to divers who have already booked for November.

More details of for the clousure are at https://www.sipadan.com/. Read more about diving Sipadan.
