Aggressor Adventures is planning to add solar panels to its Red Sea fleet to generate up to 10,000 kw of power.

“Preserving our environment is at the core of our mission and these new solar panels are one of many elements in our global Green the Fleet® environmental program,” says Wayne Brown, Aggressor Adventures Chairman & CEO. “There are further plans to install 10,000 kw solar systems aboard the Red Sea Aggressor IV. We look forward to applying the many innovations available that can reduce our impact while enjoy nature’s wonders.”

The company has already equipped its 20-passenger Nile Queen II Dahabayia-style yacht with the panels which will generate enough power to maintain the vessel while she is in port. This system can replace up to three gallons of diesel use per hour giving a cumulative reduction of thousands of gallons over one year.

Why Solar Panels?

Liveaboards are one of the best ways for divers to experience the Red Sea. Their diesel generators though contribute to climate change and air pollution.

Solar panels are a clean and renewable energy source that can help to reduce the environmental impact of liveaboards. With on average 12 hours of sunlight a day in Egypt, solar panels can continuously generate electricity for use, which can help to reduce the running of diesel generators.
